Millbrook Methodist Church

Homegound where I was made a member in 1961

The Methodist Church in Millbrook nr Stalybridge Cheshire was where I first came to faith and became a Member at age 16 in 1961. My Grandad was a Local Preacher, Sunday School Superintendent , and also on the Choir. The larger family were also attenders. The building was closed as a Church some years ago but thankfully its still standing – although as a private property – and its still a pleasure to see.

The photos are of Whit Walks early 1960’sĀ  – a Church Coach trip to Morecambe – and finally recent photos showing the building restored although now a private house.

I have just found an entry relating to my GrandadĀ  – Arthur Thornley – from the Methodist Book from 1934 and have added a photo of it.
