Samuel Newton 23 May 1830 - 1879

Minister 1852-1879

My Great Great Grandfather is Samuel Newton. He died age 48, two years after his wife (Mary Ann Lett), in Redditch, Worcestershire leaving 9 children (of 11 children, twins already deceased). His youngest child was just three and the oldest 20. He was a minister at the United Methodist Free Church (which later became the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church) at the time of his death in 1879. I believe that he had moved from Yorkshire three years before this.

He became a minster age 22 in 1852. From the birth places of his children/marriage he worked in the following places: 1858 – 1861 Worcester 1862 – 1864 Newcastle-under-Lyme 1866 Hartlepool 1868 Monkwearmouth, Sunderland 1870 – 1871 West Hartlepool 1871 Stranton, West Hartlepool (census Minister Lynn Street Chapel) 1873 Leeds 1875 – death 1879 Redditch, Worcestershire.

I would like to find out more information about him if I can.
