Millom, Newton Street Bible Christian Chapel, Cumberland

Grid ref 178799

By GW Oxley

In 1940 Newton Street Chapel had 370 sittings on pews and there were two schoolrooms and five other rooms. In 1969-70 the chapel was closed and demolished. The site leaving a balance of £479. Housing has since been built on the site. There is a photograph of what I think is this chapel on display at the Millom Discovery Centre in one of the former station buildings.
