Millbrook Methodist Church

Homegound where I was made a member in 1961

By Brian Thornley

The Methodist Church in Millbrook nr Stalybridge Cheshire was where I first came to faith and became a Member at age 16 in 1961. My Grandad was a Local Preacher, Sunday School Superintendent , and also on the Choir. The larger family were also attenders. The building was closed as a Church some years ago but thankfully its still standing - although as a private property - and its still a pleasure to see.

The photos are of Whit Walks early 1960's  - a Church Coach trip to Morecambe - and finally recent photos showing the building restored although now a private house.

I have just found an entry relating to my Grandad  - Arthur Thornley - from the Methodist Book from 1934 and have added a photo of it.
